Try One of These Glass Shower Options if Your Bathroom Is Small

28th May 2025

While we may drool over huge glass enclosures that boast double shower heads or even a soaker tub along with a space for showering, this is just not feasible in a small bathroom. In fact, trying to “force” such a design will only lead to a cluttered look, a space that’s annoying to use, and hard to reach nooks where grime builds. However, this does not mean that you cannot enjoy the beauty of glass and metal in a compact restroom. We’ll look at three distinct glass shower options that are adaptable to tighter spaces and smaller budgets!

Frameless Sliding Shower Door System

Frameless glass sliding shower door systems feature one or two panels that move by traveling on rollers along a header bar that stretches across the enclosure. These installations bring together the fashion-forward appearance of frameless glass and space-friendly sliding door movement. If the toilet or vanity is near your shower entrance, precluding the use of a swinging door, this can be the perfect solution. Requiring no more space than a shower curtain, a rolling barn-style shower door system is much more on-trend and will quickly elevate your space.

Stationary Splash Panel

Another option for a bathroom without enough clearance for a hinged door, is a fixed splash panel. Also known as a shower screen, this option consists of a single piece of tempered glass attached to the adjoining wall with clamps and U-channels. The actual entrance to the shower area is left open, and the splash panel helps keep water inside the stall. However, this also means that extra steps are needed to ensure solid water containment:

  • Enhanced waterproofing around the tub/shower.
  • Correct placement of shower sprays relative to the glass screen.
  • Appropriately placed drain.
  • Shower floor sloping toward the drain.

A clear glass splash panel offers the added benefit of visually linking the shower area with rest of the room and making both look bigger.

Neo-Angle Corner Shower

For bathrooms with a shower only or a bit more room to work with, a neo-angle corner shower can be an attractive choice. This type of stall is located in a bathroom corner and is formed by enclosing this area with three glass panels. Two run out from the walls at 90 degrees, and these are joined by a third piece of glass (usually the hinged door panel) that meets them at 135 degrees. Because of this design, this type of corner enclosure does not extend quite as far into the bathroom as a right angle corner shower. Besides the glass, this type of installation will likely include wall mount clamps, glass-to-glass hinges, some type of door handle, and appropriate vinyl seals.
