Remodelers Guide to 2024 Bathroom Trends

29th Feb 2024

Awesome styles are trending in 2024, making this a great time to remodel or update your bathroom. Many of the hottest looks involve a return to classics or a continuation of trends that emerged earlier. These features would seem to predict longevity, so there’s less concern that today’s home fashions are nothing more than quickly fading fads. How could some or all of the following trends play a part in your bathroom remodel?

Glass Shower and Free-Standing Tub

Tub and shower combos have had their day in the sun, but designers today prefer a glass shower enclosure paired with a soaker tub. Often the tub is outside the shower enclosure, but sometimes a large glass enclosure houses both a tub and an area for showering. Whichever route you go, be sure that the soaker tub is not too close to a glass or tile wall, creating an uncleanable space where moisture and dust will accumulate.

Black Bathroom Hardware

Matte black is one of the most popular finishes for shower hardware and other bathroom metal. Ways to use dark metal in a bathroom remodel include:

  • Crittall style shower glass with a black metal or ceramic frit grid on clear glass.
  • Matte black door handles, knobs, drawer pulls, etc.
  • Light fixtures with black metal components.
  • Matte black shower door hinges and cabinet hardware .
  • Black curtain rods.
  • Dark metal towel bars and paper holder.
  • Black metallic trash can, soap dispenser, toothbrush holder, etc.
  • If you want sliding shower doors, you can choose a frameless rolling shower door system with a matte black finish – see example here.

    A Return to Nature

The preference for natural items and materials has continued to grow. This takes the form of stone tiles on bathroom floors and shower walls, natural wood vanities, and more. If you invest in expensive shower tiles made of marble or another type of stone, be sure to show them off. Consider a clear glass shower enclosure with small metal components. Biophilic design is also gaining ground, and an online search will yield tons of inspiration for adding live plants to your bathroom. In fact, this may be the easiest way to give the room a fresh and refreshing vibe. There are plants that do well right inside the shower enclosure, but you can also arrange potted trees around the tub, hang planters from the ceiling, or a create a living wall using a vertical garden kit. Sound overwhelming? Start small with a potted succulent on your vanity counter.

The Design Is in the Details

2024 bathroom designs embrace uniqueness, quality, and an eye for detail. Bespoke furniture and fixtures are popular as well as vintage items. Some homeowners will have a vanity built from reclaimed barnwood or will convert an antique dresser into a vanity. Even new pieces should include thoughtful details, environmentally friendly materials, and a harmonious combination of textures, shapes, and colors.

Hardware can be one of the important details on glass showers, wall shelves, or cabinets, and Glass Simple offers a range of these products with varied styles and finishes. Our team is ready to take your order and prepare your items for delivery or local pickup. Give us a call at (571)707-7760.
