Shower Door Ladder Handle: A Trending Style
14th Jul 2026

The shower door ladder handle has long been an option, but Glass Simple staff have noticed a recent surge in sales of this particular product. While traditional tubular pulls such as 8X8TH are still popular, ladder style pulls like 8X8LH are giving them a run for their money. Choosing a handle for your glass shower? We’ll get you up to speed on ladder handle features and options in today’s posting.
Ladder Handle Variations

We offer four ladder pulls in the Glass Simple brand. 8X8LH and 6X6LH are ladder pulls with rounded contours. Both are back to back sets, and the only difference between them is height. 8X8LH has a 12” height overall, and is installed using holes in the glass 8” apart, center to center, while 6X6LH is 10” overall and 6” center to center. Alternatively, 8X8SLH and 6X6SLH have the same specifications, but their vertical sections are made from square, rather than rounded, piping. All four products are typically available in the following finishes:
- Polished chrome
- Polished nickel
- Brushed nickel
- Brushed bronze
- Satin brass
- Matte black
Ladder Handle Aesthetic Appeal

Choosing a ladder handle is a wonderful way to give a glass shower enclosure more personality and charm without veering into fads or edgy (and potentially expensive) options that may be distinctly out of fashion in a short time. A ladder pull is a bit more eye-catching than a simple tubular pull, but it still offers a classic look that coordinates with many of today’s bathroom décor trends. Matte black ladder handles seem to be especially beloved by home decorators, and they align nicely with modern trends toward simple but elegant profiles and dark metallics that ground a room’s color scheme.
Ladder Handle Ergonomics and Accessibility

Like tubular pull handles, ladder handles are easy to grasp and pull open or push shut. Some homeowners prefer them over small finger pulls for reasons including:
- Joint issues that make it difficult to grasp a pull firmly with a single finger
- Decorative long nails which make operating a finger pull impractical
- An age-in-place plan that calls for highly ergonomic bath hardware
Finally, ladder handles offer still another level of accessibility. Since the vertical section extends well past the upper horizontal bar, you can open the door by crooking a forearm between the upper part of the handle and the glass, entirely removing the need for fine motor movements.
